Indication •  Depression

• Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder

•  Off-label:

•  Pruritus

Contraindication •  To be used with caution in Children and adolescent

•  Hypersensitivity

•  Risk of switch to Mania

•  Gastrointestinal bleeding

•  Abnormal Electrocardiogram changes

•  History of seizure disorder

•  Risk of Hyponatremia

•  Angle closure glaucoma

•  Sexual dysfunction

•  Concomitant use with few other drugs like pimozide or thioridazine or Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors, other

Benefit •  Improvement in depressive symptoms

•  Safer than other antidepressants in pregnancy and breastfeeding

•  Improves ejaculation time in patients with premature ejaculation

•  Safe in patients with cardiac problems

•  Safe in patients taking multiple medications for other medical problems

Adverse effects

(usually decreases in 3-4 weeks of therapy, usually reversible)

•  Diarrhoea

•  Nausea

•  Headache

•  Insomnia

•  Ejaculation disorder

•  Dizziness

•  Dry mouth

•  Fatigue

•  Drowsiness

•  Avoid abrupt withdrawal
